The first thing to think about when you want to wash your car by yourself is what products to use. You can buy special products found in stores or you can do with what you have around the house.
Hair conditioner
Polish your car with hair conditioner that contains lanolin and you will not need any special wax. The water will stay away from the car body and it will not rust.
Clean the windscreen using cola
When it rains a lot, the windshield is filled with mud and all sorts of junk and no matter how you clean it with water, it appears to be incompletely clean. Pour a glass of Coke on it, it dissolves dirt. Afterward, be sure to rinse with plenty of water, because if the juice dries and remains on the windscreen it will become sticky and will attract more dirt.
Run out of windshield fluid
When you run out of windscreen cleaning fluid, make a special blend. Put 3 cups of vodka (the cheapest), 4 cups of water and 2 teaspoons of dishwashing liquid. Mix well and pour into the special car tank.
Let’s say you have any other liquid with you, no vodka, and no napkins. What are you going to do? Somewhere in the bag must be some intimate hygiene pads. They can turn into a suitable tool for polishing the windscreen.
Take care of the headlights
The car must have clean headlights, if you want it to enlighten properly. What product is best to use? The same that you use to wash the windows in the house.
If your headlights get dirty and you’re not home, use baby wipes to clean them. What could be simpler than that?
Windscreen wipers
If the wiper blades are dirty, you can’t expect them to clean the windshield. Make a solution of one quarter ammonia and three quarters water and wipe them with a napkin, then dry them with a towel.
You can keep this solution in a bottle, at hand all the time, and use it whenever you need it.
Baking soda
Put a quarter cup of sodium bicarbonate, same amount of dishwashing liquid and keep the concentrated solution in a bottle. When you need it, dilute it in 5-6 liters of warm water and wash the entire car.
Beware of the heat
If you wash your car when it is too hot outside or just after you drive it, it is possible that the dirt won’t be taken as it should.
Avoid special air drying
Avoid machines that blow dry air, because traces will remain. Instead, use special soft towels with which to dry the entire surface of the car. It’s harder, but the result will be superior.
