A dirty tile is not easy on the eyes. And so are dirty ceramic sinks or ceramic bathtubs, not to mention toilet bowls.
Keeping a clean tile is not easy. If you spill something, and use the mop to clean it out, it is not entirely clean until you get down and scrub that tile.
How to clean dirty tiles and ceramic house items?
A great tile and ceramic cleaner includes baking soda and lemon juice, or baking soda and distilled white vinegar. Due to the fact that vinegar is acidic, it makes it an efficient cleaner and dirt solvent.
Here’s one way to make your own tile and ceramic cleaner:
- rubbing alcohol
- distilled white vinegar
- distilled water
- lemon essential oil
- lavender essential oil
- baking soda
The reason it is recommended to use distilled water is to ensure that no hard water marks ruin the cleaning process after finishing.
To clean the toilet bowl you can just mix vinegar with baking soda, to resemble a smooth paste, and scrub all the dirt out. And to make it smell good, you can use your preferred essential oil in the mix.
You can use the same mix to clean your ceramic bathtub.
To give that squeaky clean shine, after cleaning, just wipe the entire surface of the item you just cleaned with a soft cloth damped with rubbing alcohol.
You can also cheat a little, and use equal parts of dish washing liquid and vinegar. This is one of the most popular DIY methods to clean tiles and ceramics.
You can also just use baking soda and water for not-so-dirty surfaces.
