Oral hygiene is an important part of the overall human body hygiene. Everyone wants a beautiful and shining smile. In order to have healthy teeth you need to take care of them on a daily basis. An important item is the toothpaste you choose.

If you are trying to give up cosmetics trade, as much as possible, or if you just want to try make your first homemade toothpaste, here is a simple and very beneficial recipe.

You need to following ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsp. clay (white, green, whatever you have or like to use);
  • 2 Tbsp. baking soda;
  • 2 tsp. glycerin;
  • 1 tsp. coconut oil;
  • ½ tsp. fine see salt;
  • 10 drops mint essential oil;
  •  water

You just need to mix the above ingredient in a bowl. You need to add water, just enough to make a creamy composition.

All the above ingredients have beneficial properties for your teeth:

Baking soda – it is used for its whitening properties;

Sea salt – helps remove the food debris from your teeth;

Coconut oil – helps assimilate calcium and acts like a shield against dental caries;

Clay – it’s rich in minerals and helps mineralize and nourish the teeth;

Essential oils – besides giving a pleasant taste to the toothpaste they also help deeply clean the teeth.

The quantities presented above are just estimative. You can make, more or less than I’ve suggested, but I do not recommend making too much. It’s enough if you make a quantity that you can use for about 2 weeks. Also I recommend you store it in a glass recipient covered with lid.
