In medical terms, blackheads are called open comedones and are nothing else large pores. Follicles are actually plugs made of dead cells and sebum that blocks the oxidation of melanin (a substance that determine skin color) and become black.
Instead of spending money on cosmetics here are some recipes to make your own strips and get rid of blackheads.
Take the juice from a lemon and mix it with an egg white. Beat until it turns into a foam. Take a paper towel and form the pieces you need. Dip them into the mixture and apply it on the affected area. Wait 20-30 minutes until it dries and take it off. You will see all the impurities and blackheads on strips.
In a glass cup add a tablespoon of milk and a tablespoon of gelatin. Mix it well and put the cup into microwave for 10 seconds on medium power. When cool apply the mixture on the affected area using a makeup brush. Wait 10 minutes and remove it carefully. You can easily see the blackheads on this homemade tape.
To prevent blackheads cleanse the skin thoroughly, preferably with a lotion that contains salicylic acid, which helps treat and prevent blackheads. It has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory role. Use a toner containing totarol (from Totara tree, which is antimicrobial). This closes pores and restores the skin’s natural pH. Use a nonfat moisturizer, preferably containing hyaluronic acid which deeply moisturizes.
